General Training (D-4) → Study Abroad (D-2)
To switch from a D-4 to a D-2 visa, you must go to the Busan Immigration Office to apply to change your requirements for staying, to extend the period of your stay, or to change to a different institution. Please apply to change your visa after checking the application forms below.
Required Documents
- Application form, passport, KRW 70,000 service fee, and standard written permission of enrollment
- Certified documents of temporary place of residence
Examples include a housing contract, a document confirming accommodations, mail indicating predicted expiry of the term duration, receipt of a public utility payment or a dormitory payment. - A certified document of family relations
The original and the copy have to be included.

Certified documents of the highest level of education attainment
Certified documents of your highest level of education attainment should be the originals during the evaluation.
Citizens or people who got their degrees in the following 21 countries can chose either A, B or C.

- A) Certified documents of degree programs confirmed by apostilles.
- B) Certified documents of degree programs confirmed by the country associated with the applicant's school, the Korean Embassy, or the official residential embassy in Korea.
- C) Credentials reports from China Academic Degree and Graduate Education Development Center (limited to those whose academic abilities and degrees have been granted in China)
※ However, applicants are allowed to submit their unofficial degree certificates if they received their degrees at universities in Korea.
General Training (D-4)/Study Abroad (D-2) → Job Seeking (D-10)
International students will have to switch their visas to D-10 (Job Seeking) when applying for employment if they wish to stay in Korea to work or receive job-seeking fees to participate in internship programs after graduation.
