Hello everyone~
Today, as part of the [2023 German Culture and Arts Festival], after exploring various interpretations through film works, the cultural issues of contemporary music were discussed.
To do this, the musical world of the [Seok Ji Min Trio], referred to as the idol of the current jazz music scene, was experienced.
The music concert took place at the Laon Music Hall at Pusan National University, and it is said that various genre concerts are held every Friday!
In the news of the visit to the Pusan National University Department of German Studies, the representative thoughtfully prepared refreshments for the students, warming not only ears but also hearts and minds.
The music concert started with "Sunday Waltz," followed by the songs: "Escape," "Light," "Fallen Leaves," "Whispering Memories," "Journey," and "After You Left."
Through Seok Ji Min Trio’s unique style and their original compositions, contemporary jazz music was experienced in a variety of ways, offering numerous interpretations.
Each of their original pieces was full of interpretations and emotions.
These songs seemed interconnected, and depending on one's values and perspectives, the images they painted in minds could vary, offering a truly warm and beautiful experience.
As the pandemic period arrived, emotions of escaping it, the hope and light seen in the darkness, childhood reflections, dreams, the journey taken ― all of these were conveyed through the music.
The emotions of farewell and the anticipation of future reunions were expressed with just the music, allowing one to feel the dynamic language of jazz and truly empathize.
It truly became a precious experience.
Looking forward to future works and their interpretations, the emotions they will evoke are eagerly anticipated.
It was a day filled with excitement for the German Studies community.
