Cryogenic performance evaluation equipment for LNG insulation panel

▲ Cryogenic performance verification equipment owned by Pusan National University

  - To evaluate the mechanical properties (curving, compression, buckling, tension) of the system unit using a hydraulic actuator equipped with a cryogenic chamber

  - Static load can be applied up to 100 tons, and performance that can be controlled up to -180°C temperature (error range 0.2°C) using liquid nitrogen is required.

  • Test items (Utilization plan)

  - Unit panel compression and bending test (using construction equipment)
  - A three-point/four-point bending test implementing quantitative hull deformation of cargo window unit panel specimens with a width of up to 1.2m and a length of 3.2m is performed. Able to conduct a comparative study within the Mark III family or a comparative study between Mark-III and NO96 unit panels

  - The system compression and bending tests were performed at room temperature as a member of a chamber to accommodate a specimen size (GTT Co., Ltd.), but the temperature could be controlled up to -180°C by installing a cryogenic chamber capable of accommodating up to 1.2m wide and 3.2m long.

  - Actual load simulation experiment (using construction equipment
  - Various environmental simulation experiments are possible through the design of the lower part of the actuator jig.
  - Hull collision test, unit panel tensile test, primary barrier unfolding test
