요약
This study examines the impact of occupational education on the educational attainment of spouses in Korea using data from the 1998-2023 Korean Labor and Income Panel Study. Utilizing fixed effects regression and LASSO analysis, the findings reveal that the average years of education within an occupation significantly influence spousal education, with a stronger effect observed for women. This suggests that occupational education plays a crucial role in assortative mating and supports the notion that education reduces search costs in the marriage market.
