On March 10, 2017, there was a ceremony celebrating the completion of the Pierre Fauchard bust by the Graduate School of Dentistry at the Yangsan Campus of Pusan National University.
Pierre Fauchard (Pierre Fauchard 1678-1761) is a French physician and is called 'the father of modern dentistry'. His authenticity, which shared all of his knowledge and was for the patient, contributed greatly to the development of dentistry.
This spirit resembles the educational philosophy of Dental University of Pusan National University.
The bust production was produced by professor Kim Jeong Hye, a professor of sculpture at Busan University of Fine Arts. It is meaningful that our Pusan National University is the first dental university to have Pierre Fauchard bust. This led to the completion of a representative bust formula called Dental College - Pierre Fauchard, Medical College - Hippocrates, College of Korean Medicine - Heo Jun, Nursing College - Nightingale.
