Pusan National University(PNU) runs medical volunteer and educational donation programs to improve access to basic
services for low-income and vulnerable groups, ensuring they can achieve their rights to health care and education.
1. PNU provides volunteer medical service to vulnerable community members, such as the elderly, North Korean
defectors, and foreign workers.
The "Ami Volunteer Group," PNU Hospital's main volunteer team, created a mobile clinic at a community welfare center,
providing blood glucose and pressure checks, along with eye care.
The PNU Dental Hospital visited offered services like oral exams, fluoride treatments, and scaling to those in need.
The "YES Medical Volunteer Group" from Yangsan PNU Hospital and PNU Dental Hospital also conducted general
and dental exams for 56 socially excluded individuals, including North Korean defectors and multicultural families.
2. The Social Contribution Center has implemented various educational programs to combat inequality among
youth from marginalized backgrounds.
Programs like "Dadamda Mentoring" and "Dakum Mentoring" provided cultural experiences and academic guidance
for multicultural and North Korean students.
They also partnered with local child centers for farming and fishing activities, as well as recycling education and training.
