1. Pusan National University(PNU) is dedicated to wage equity, ensuring no salary differentiation based on gender across all job classifications, including professors, administrative public officers, contract staff, and cleaning service workers.
This commitment is reflected in various regulations and the 2023 collective agreements.
- Professors: Salary differentiation adheres to the Public Officials Remuneration Regulations, based on performance assessments in
education, research, and service.
- Administrative Public Officers: Salaries are determined by rank and step in accordance with the Public Officials Remuneration Regulations.
- Contract Employees: Article 60(Gender Equality and Work and Life Balance) of the 2023 Collective Agreement prohibits wage and promotion
discrimination against women based solely on gender.
- Cleaning Service Workers: Article 13(Wage) of the 2023 Collective Agreement reinforces equal pay for equal work, consistent with the Gender
Equality in Employment and Work-Family Balance Support Act.
2. To support female faculty on maternity leave, PNU provided a childcare leave allowance and a tailored welfare
program for staff with children.
3. PNU issued a report on the implementation of gender equality action plans, evaluating female representation
in key committees such as the Personnel Committee and the Financial Committee.
This initiative is designed to encourage the participation and supervision of female employees in all aspects of the human resources system and financial management plans that may directly or indirectly affect the wage system,
and to ensure that female workers are not discriminated against in promotion and salary.
