[8.2.6.] Employment policy pay scale equity

Have a policy on pay scale equity including a commitment to measurement and elimination of gender pay gaps

 

Pusan National University(PNU) measures and analyzes the campus gender pay gap under the Act on Women’s Equal Employment and Support for Work Family Balance and implements policies to address it.


1. PNU Employment Regulations Articles 66-67 prohibit gender discrimination in wages and financial loan support, affirming equal pay for work of equal value. Article 60 of the 2024 Collective Agreement for University Contract Staff also prohibits gender based wage discrimination, and Article 18 requires sharing information and materials to ensure transparency.


2. The Finance and Accounting Division publishes an annual analysis report on employee remuneration by gender and rank, regularly monitoring the gender pay gap and reporting results to university offices to ensure fair wage administration.



3. To mitigate pay gaps arising from maternity and childcare leave, the university provides childcare leave pay according to public servant allowance regulations and collective agreements and issues an annual report on the Implementation of Gender Equality Action Plans to monitor supportive measures (e.g., childcare facility subsidies, teaching load exemptions) that prevent interruptions in women’s career.
