Pusan National University(PNU) is collaborating with local authorities to tackle urban planning and development challenges,
promoting housing stability for residents.
1. PNU's "Education and Research Project on Innovative Design for Living SOC Utilizing Vacant Spaces in Declining Cities" has
established a MOU with the Yeongdo District Office of Busan City to advance urban regeneration initiatives.
This includes the creation of the "Community Cooperation Center for Activating Vacant Spaces in Yeongdo,"
conducting community surveys, hosting workshops, and developing community spaces in partnership with local authorities
to foster a stable housing environment.
2. Through the "Research Project on the Social Responsibility of Education," PNU has partnered with Habitat Korea to
implement housing welfare initiatives for vulnerable populations in Busan.
Activities include student-led investigations into housing conditions for the vulnerable, campaigns to improve
housing conditions, and support for housing repairs conducted by Habitat for Humanity.
3. PNU also co-hosted the "2023 Conference of the Korean Real Estate Analysis Society" to discuss housing loan repayment
risks for first-time homebuyers and explore potential solutions through private rental housing.
