[11.4.1] Sustainable practices targets
Measure and set targets for more sustainable commuting (walking, cycling or other non-motorized transport, vanpools, carpools, shuttlebus or public transportation, motorcycle, scooter or moped, or electric vehicles)
Pusan National University(PNU) is surveying campus commuting patterns to promote environmentally, socially, and economically sustainable travel and is using the results to develop measures that improve school policies and inform future planning.
1. In 2024 PNU surveyed students about the shuttle-bus service between the Busan and Miryang campuses to “promote sustainable transport” and “improve intercampus accessibility.” The survey measured peak usage times and preferred headways, informing a proposed reorganization of shuttle operations.

2. PNU conducted policy research into introducing smart mobility (eco-friendly autonomous vehicles) “to improve campus transportation.” The research surveyed campus members and visitors on travel modes, costs, and smart-mobility preferences.

3. The General Affairs Division surveyed students and staff about adding electric-vehicle charging stations and established an improvement plan for EV parking to support an eco-friendly campus transport environment.
