Provide affordable housing for students

1. Pusan National University(PNU) directly manages on campus dormitories, including Hyowonjae and Jilli Hall, offering accommodation for approximately 150,000 KRW (109 USD) per month-significantly below Busan’s 2024 average rent of 430,000 KRW (300 USD)-thereby promoting housing stability for students.

2. The on-campus dormitories runs the “Happy Home Support Project,” which fully covers both dormitory fees and meal costs for low income students, ensuring stable living conditions and academic focus.

3. In 2024 PNU operated a special admissions program for students from low income and lower middle income countries, providing initial settlement grants that covered living expenses and dormitory fees for international students from countries such as Myanmar and Ethiopia.
