[12.2.6.] Policy for minimisation of disposable items Have policies around use minimisation of disposable items |
Pusan National University(PNU) is committed to creating a carbon-neutral green campus and follows the 'Guidelines for
Reducing the Use of Disposable Products in Public Institutions' to cut down on disposables.
1. Paperless Meeting Room and Attendance System
As part of its 2021 carbon-neutral initiative, PNU sets annual action plans.
Nine tasks focus on promoting green campus life, advancing carbon-neutral education and research, and fostering a carbon-
neutral culture.
A key effort is creating a 'paperless meeting room and attendance register environment.'
This reduces carbon emissions by minimizing paper and toner use through smart meetings with a centralized document
system and an electronic attendance system, replacing traditional paper methods.
2. Reducing Disposable Products
Following the guidelines, PNU encourages using reusable cups at meetings and events.
It also has rainwater removers for wet umbrellas instead of plastic covers to support carbon neutrality.
To reinforce these policies among professors, staff, and students, PNU offers tailored consulting on the document management
system (DMS) and distributes posters to encourage community participation.
