[12.2.3.] Policy waste disposal - hazardous materials 2024

Pusan National University(PNU) operates the Laboratory Safety Management Center to effectively manage hazardous and harmful wastes generated on campus, thereby preventing environmental pollution and accidents associated with hazardous substances. The center's responsibilities and procedures for the safe collection, storage, and disposal of these materials are detailed in the Laboratory Safety Management Regulations and the Enforcement Rules. Specifically, the Enforcement Rules outline disposal methods for experimental waste, medical waste, and expired reagents. In 2024, the center compiled these guidelines into a manual and officially distributed it campus-wide, assisting all members in the legal and safe collection and disposal of waste in accordance with the Waste Management Act. 

Additionally, the Laboratory Safety Management Center has made various educational resources available on its website, including video lectures on waste disposal, guidelines categorized by experimental field, and informational card news, ensuring that all campus members have access to accurate and easily understandable information.
