PNU(Pusan National University) offers educational programs related to the SDGs to fulfill its social responsibilities
and support the community, including graduates, local residents, refugees, and vulnerable groups.
1. PNU Lifelong Education Center for Future and Citizens provides lifelong education courses on the SDGs
for local residents, including students, alumni, veterans' families, and basic livelihood support recipients.
Courses include Urban Agriculture Gardening (SDG 11), Strength Training for Pain Management (SDG 3),
and Forest Welfare Job Skills (SDG 1, 15).
2. The Center also offered SDG-related education for individuals with disabilities, including an Ecological Citizenship Education.
3. PNU engages alumni in SDG-related experiences.
International alumni visited a traditional Korean Buddhist temple to learn about preserving cultural and natural heritage.
Additionally, PNU hosted Commemoration Ceremony for the Buma Democratic Uprising and emphasized its historical
values to almuni.
4. PNU's Specialized Research Project for Advanced Environmental Technologies in Response to Climate Change
organizes community programs related to the SDGs.
In 2023, they conducted experiential learning on climate change and carbon neutrality for local middle and high school students.
The program included lectures by Prof. Chang-hyuk Kim from the Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering on
“Carbon Neutrality and Sustainable Environment,” as well as hands-on laboratory classes.
5. PNU's Social Contribution Center educated children from multicultural and North Korean defector families on
recycling and marine debris issues.
