Eco-Friendly Hydrogen Fuel Ship R&D Platform Open Ceremony | 2024.09.20
Pusan National University's Hydrogen Ship Technology Center has built an "Eco-Friendly Hydrogen Fuel Ship R&D Platform" equipped with 50 types of advanced research facilities to develop core equipment for hydrogen ships at the Marine Industry Cluster in Uam-dong, Nam-gu, Busan, and held an opening ceremony at 1:30 p.m. on September 20 after verifying its performance.
The platform is led by Hydrogen Ship Technology Center of Pusan National University (Director Jae-Myung Lee, Professor of Shipbuilding and Marine Engineering), which invested a total of 40.5 billion won (KRW 8.8 billion from Busan Metropolitan City, KRW 26 billion from the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, KRW 2.1 billion from the private sector and KRW 3.6 billion from Busan Port Authority for land lease) in government funds, municipal funds and private funds, and was completed in December last year. It is located on a 4,902.7㎡ site with 4 floors above ground and is Korea's first and largest hydrogen ship core equipment performance evaluation facility.
The president of Pusan National University attended the opening ceremony, the mayor of Busan Metropolitan City, the speaker of the Busan Metropolitan Assembly, members of the National Assembly, the president of Busan Port Authority, major domestic shipbuilders, and members of the Busan Hydrogen Alliance.
