All foreign students who have D-2 visas can only work part-time jobs, after you apply for an S-3 (part-time employment) visa. You can only start working after your S-3 visa has been approved by immigration office. If you work without permission, there will be penalties regarding your residence in Korea and you will have to pay a fine.
1. Permissible working Hours
- Undergraduate students: 25 hours per week
- Master․doctoral degree students and research students: 30 hours per week
※ Unlimited hours (will not be counted in weekday hours) for weekends & holidays during the semester and the entire period of summer and winter vacations
※ Working hours by TOPIK score(effective from Oct. 1st, 2018)

2. Period Permitted: one year within period of stay (until the expiration date on your ARC); you can work at up to two places
3. Documents for application : passport, alien registration card, application, Part-time Employment Confirmation Form, transcript, business registration document, contract, TOPIK certificate

① Fill in the applicant and the expected place of employment part(employer‘s signature is mandatory) of Part-time Work Confirmation Form
② Visit ISC(Main bldg. 1st floor) and request confirmation and signature of international student coordinator (bring alien registration card, copy of business registration certificate, contract and TOPIK certificate)
③ Apply for S-3 Visa at Busan immigration office with application documents or by on-line
※ It’s disapproved if service area by business registration document is manufacturing(from 2017.9.1.)
※ It’s disapproved if service area by business registration document is construction(from 2018.11.1.)
※ Students who got below 2.0 on GPA or failed to attend over 70% of the class are disapproved
