Main thrusts of the research involves a better understanding of the heterogeneous micro-mechanical responses of engineering materials & their reaction to 3D microstructural attributes, the development of numerical strategies for incorporation of microscopic responses in macroscopic modeling using advanced homogenization techniques, and physics-based modeling of materials constitutive responses as a function of imposed constraints and the corresponding microstructural variability for the materials prognosis and sustainability.
