Terms of The School of Architecture
Chapter 1. General Provisions
Article 1(Aim) This Regulation (the 'Bylaws' hereinafter) shall be established for the operation and governing of education and undergraduates in the School of Architecture (hereinafter school), at Pusan National University.
Article 2(Formation) The school consists of the undergraduate course, and the postgraduate and doctoral courses in graduate school, and the architectural major course in professional school.
Article 3(Undergraduates governing) Unless otherwise delegated to the school, all undergraduate governing is decided through the deliberations of the faculty.
Article 4(Scope of bylaws) The bylaws are applied within the framework of regulations and decisions of Pusan National University. Those matters not provided are in accordance with these regulations and decisions.
Article 2(Formation) The school consists of the undergraduate course, and the postgraduate and doctoral courses in graduate school, and the architectural major course in professional school.
Article 3(Undergraduates governing) Unless otherwise delegated to the school, all undergraduate governing is decided through the deliberations of the faculty.
Article 4(Scope of bylaws) The bylaws are applied within the framework of regulations and decisions of Pusan National University. Those matters not provided are in accordance with these regulations and decisions.
Chapter 2. Faculty Meeting
Article 1(Faculty meeting) As the best decision-making body of the school, faculty meetings shall deliberate and decide on general affairs of the school such as administration, education, and research.
Article 2(Configuration) No Fellow who is not a member of the full-time faculty shall be considered for a faculty meeting. The Dean of the school shall be the chair of the meeting. The term of the Dean shall be two years.
Article 3(Committee) For efficient operation and governing, the Dean of the school shall establish and govern the committees, which meet the bylaws of the each major. Each committee's composition is determined by the faculty meeting after the inauguration of the Dean; the term of each committee is same as the term of the Dean.
Article 4(Function) Faculty meetings shall deliberate and decide on the following.
1. Enactment and amendment of bylaws and other related regulations.
2. Formation, such as the installation and abolition of organizations and affiliated institutions of the schools.
3. Matters relating to undergraduate and graduate schools.
4. Student guidance and supervision.
5. Matters relating to budget and facilities.
6. Matters relating to international cooperation.
7. Other assumed matters.
Article 5(Meeting) Faculty meetings will be operated as follows.
1. Regular faculty meetings: shall be held at 12 pm on Thursdays during the semester.
2. Temporary faculty meetings: shall be convened by the Dean of the school when necessary.
3. Deliberation and Decision: depending on the importance of the agenda shall be voted as following. The importance of the agenda shall be determined by, the Dean of the school.
⑴. Personnel related matters: by presenting and voting with more than 4/5 of the professors of the school in favor.
⑵. Agenda, which have a large impact on the governing of the school, excluding personnel related matters: by presenting and voting with more than 2/3 of the professors of the school in favor.
⑶. Any other agendas that do not belong to ⑴ and ⑵: by voting with more than half of the professors of the school attended in favor.
Article 6(Meeting minutes) Minutes of the meetings should be written and kept.
Article 7(Education seminar) For evaluation and improvement of educational outcomes, a regular or temporary seminar shall be held with the participation of the entire faculty.
1. Regular education seminar: annually in December.
2. Temporary education seminar: convened by the Dean of the school in the case of pending issues.

1. Time, range and procedure regarding transfer shall be in accordance with the 'regulations' of the university and 'architecture programs bylaws' of the school.
2. Time, range and procedure regarding change of major study shall be in accordance with the 'regulations' of the university and 'architecture programs bylaws' of the school.
Article 2(Grading and treatment) Grading and treatment shall be in accordance with the 'regulations' of the university.
Article 3(Selection of the scholarship beneficiary) Selection of the scholarship beneficiary shall be in accordance with the 'bylaws for the selection of the scholarship beneficiary' of the school.
Article 4(Major completion) A student may complete any major courses by their choice in accordance with the 'regulations' of the university.
Article 5(Change of major study) Change of major study shall be in accordance with the ‘curriculum governing bylaws’ of the school.
1. The eligibility criteria for transfer to the school of architecture must be at least a 3.0 grade point average.
2. The time of the change of a major study to the school of architecture shall be in accordance with the 'regulations' of the university.
3. Eligibility Examination shall be composed of an interview (50%) and an oral examination (50%) to judge basic literacy and willingness to learn.
Article 6(Advanced placement courses) Advanced placement courses are governed by the ‘principle of completing the subjects by curriculum design’ order, and they will be informed prior to the course. If a student has a particular reason such as reinstatement, it is recommended to follow the information below.
1. After completing the 1st year's design process, a student will proceed to study to complete the design process of the 2nd or 3rd year.
2. After completing the 3rd year's design process, a student will proceed to study to complete the design process of the 4th or 5th year.
Article 7(Transfer)
1. Examination of transfer shall be conducted by interview by major, in accordance with the 'architecture programs bylaws' of the school.
Article 8(Graduation requirements) Student's graduation requirements include credits, foreign language skills and practice experience and, graduation assignments. These are in accordance with the 'graduation bylaws' of the school.
Article 9(Supervisor) Each supervisor of the grade shall guide students of each grade, in accordance with the ‘student guidance bylaws’ of the school.
Article 10(Student interview) Supervisor in charge shall interview students every semester more than once, and discuss related (sub) committees by major. The results shall be discussed in a faculty meeting when necessary.
Article 11(Education certification) Matters on the certification of academic programs are in accordance with the 'education accreditation governing bylaws'.
1. Time, range and procedure regarding transfer shall be in accordance with the 'regulations' of the university and 'architecture programs bylaws' of the school.
2. Time, range and procedure regarding change of major study shall be in accordance with the 'regulations' of the university and 'architecture programs bylaws' of the school.
Article 2(Grading and treatment) Grading and treatment shall be in accordance with the 'regulations' of the university.

Article 2(Research area) Graduate school is established for the architecture program.
Article 3(Grading) Grading shall be in accordance with the 'graduate school regulations' of the university.
Article 4(Graduation requirements) Graduation requirements include credits, qualifying examinations and a dissertation review in accordance with the 'graduate school regulations' of the university.
Article 5(Supervisor) Supervisor relations shall be in accordance with the article 2 of the ‘student guidance bylaws’ of the school.
Article 2(Research area) Graduate school is established for the architecture program.

Chapter 5. Professional School Governing
Article 1(Research area) The School of Architecture operates and governs architecture majors in the professional school.
Article 2(Grading) Grading shall be in accordance with the 'professional school regulations' of the university.
Article 3(Graduation requirements) Graduation requirements include credits, qualifying examinations and a dissertation review. These are in accordance with the 'professional school regulations' of the university.
Article 4(Supervisor) A student must choose a supervisor after completing the first semester of the professional school, and a supervisor should be in charge of more than one student.
Article 2(Grading) Grading shall be in accordance with the 'professional school regulations' of the university.
Article 3(Graduation requirements) Graduation requirements include credits, qualifying examinations and a dissertation review. These are in accordance with the 'professional school regulations' of the university.
Article 4(Supervisor) A student must choose a supervisor after completing the first semester of the professional school, and a supervisor should be in charge of more than one student.
Chapter 6. Document Processing
Article 1(Definition of terms)
1. A 'document' in this bylaw means documents, research, journals, reports, newsletters, sending, chart, minutes and other records of any kind, which occur during undergraduate business.
2. A 'document management officer' in this bylaw means a caregiver, and a person who is responsible for archiving. 'A person in charge' means the person who is responsible for processing the information.
Article 2(Principles of the business affairs treatment)
1. Business affairs should be handled accurately and quickly and should have clear accountability.
2. In case the following occur, documents should be completed without delay.
(1) Urgent and important matters that are not treated by documentation such as calls or dictation.
(2) Matters agreed at the meeting.
(3) Any supporting documents related to money or revenue costs
(4) Matters recognized to be referred for other business processes or information in the future.
Article 3(Document retention) Retention of documents in a separate provision shall be as follows, except those under separate regulations.
1) Class A documents: permanent
2) Class B documents: 10 years retention
3) Class C documents: 3 years retention
4) Class D documents: 1 year retention
Atricle 4(Disposal of archives)
1. Minor releases, or other similar documents determined not to have further evidence, may be denounced after the expiration of the current year with the approval of the Dean of the school.
2. Obsolete documents should be recorded by the date and year of disposal in the record book.
Article 5(Rent of record binding and others)
1. Rent of record binding, the inspection or copying of important documents, is subject to be conducted after the approval of the Dean of the school, and rental shall be indicated on the rent record book.
2. Rent period is within 3 days.

2. Prints and other publications within the scope of the budget are published under the responsibility of the Dean.
Article 2(Purchase of books and periodicals) School purchases and manages necessary books and periodicals within the scope of the budget.
Article 3(Filing) Filing should be conducted in accordance with the central library management operating system. Donated or purchased books should be indicated in the library management book of the school, and should be managed in accordance with the principles of classification.
Article 4(Reading and rent)
1. Reading and rental should be conducted in accordance with the central library management operating system. The document management officer must manage the reading and rental of the books in architecture information center in the building of the school of architecture.
2. When rented books are not returned for a long time without a reason, re-imbursement must be given by, the party responsible for the return.
Article 5(Rent period)
1. Book rental period must not exceed three days from the date of rental.
2. After 3 days, the book must be rented once again.
Article 6(Conservation of books) Books must be conserved permanently. However, due to the revision of relevant laws and regulations or when it is not necessary due to the expiration of the statute of the limitation, it may be handled after the approval of the Dean of the school.

1. Equipment must be purchased through the review of the undergraduate subcommittee and the approval the Dean of the school.
2. Major equipment purchases shall be done through a vote of the faculty of the school.
Article 3(Epuipment management) A manageable number must be attached to label equipment.
Article 4(Disposal) Equipment that is unable to be utilized must be disposed of after the approval of the Dean of the school in accordance with the relative regulation of the University.

Chapter 9. Leave and Absence
Article 1(Making a transition paper) When there is a phase of variation of the school employee's retirement, leave, or work, the person who is leaving must write a paper explaining the documents, goods, and cases that have not been dealt with, indicating future treatment tips, and must transit it to the successor.
Article 2(Special transition) On the task of money, goods and other property, it must indicate the amount of loans and payment, obligation details, relative account books, the numbers and status of the goods.
Article 3(Transition procedure)
1. When completing transition, 3 copies of a transition paper, jointly signed by a transition person and a successor must be submitted. Each side must keep one copy of a transition paper. After the necessary reactions required taken, the other one must be submitted to the Dean of the school.
2. Transition must follow these guidelines.
(1) Transition of the Dean must be reported to the faculty meeting of the school.
(2) Transition of the employee must be reported to the Dean of the school.
Article 2(Special transition) On the task of money, goods and other property, it must indicate the amount of loans and payment, obligation details, relative account books, the numbers and status of the goods.
Article 3(Transition procedure)

Chapter 10. Interim measures
Article 1(Initiative and obsolete of bylaw)
1. The revision and the initiative of this bylaw, must be requested by more than ¼ of the professors or the Dean of the school.
2. Decision of the faculty meeting of the school for enactment or amendment of bylaws must be in accordance with (3) of the article 5, chapter 2.
Article 2(Bylaw) The necessary details for the enforcement of this bylaw shall be determined by the school.
Additional clause
1) This bylaw shall take effect on 2 March 2010. (2010.3.2).
1. The revision and the initiative of this bylaw, must be requested by more than ¼ of the professors or the Dean of the school.
2. Decision of the faculty meeting of the school for enactment or amendment of bylaws must be in accordance with (3) of the article 5, chapter 2.
Article 2(Bylaw) The necessary details for the enforcement of this bylaw shall be determined by the school.
Additional clause
1) This bylaw shall take effect on 2 March 2010. (2010.3.2).
