Undergraduate Introduction
The Department of Business of Pusan National University has 225 openings for new students and 36 esteemed faculty members. The discipline of business management taught in our department involves studying companies. It can be considered a separate discipline of social science. In general, the discipline of business management is a preparatory step for all the activities conducted in a company. A company needs to manage its human resources, manufacture a proper product in a proper volume, and promote its products to the consumers while doing all these things with high cost efficiency. Many think that the discipline of business management is about making money, but it is not always so. You also need to study management to be able to successfully run non-profit organizations such as alumni associations, schools, or hospitals.
The Department of Business of Pusan National University was founded on the educational ideology of the University, which is “Truth, Freedom, and Service.” As a result, the department values the responsibilities of the business manager and aims to develop skilled professional business managers who can realize persistent merits over their company’s competitors under the new paradigm of management. As such, below are the specific objectives that we need to attain to be able to realize our educational goals.
(1) To develop strategic business managers equipped with creative knowledge, innovative thinking, a sense of social responsibility, and a passion for execution. We cultivate business managers with comprehensive skills befitting a leader who also honors his/her responsibilities and moral requisites.
(2) To analyze the dramatic, widespread, and accelerating changes in the environment of business competition in a systematic manner so as to foresee the future, and to realize creative management innovation so as to cultivate future decision makers who can effectively navigate through the changes that are bound to happen in the future. To respond to the new management paradigm, we will continuously adjust our curriculum and will introduce new teaching methods to cultivate talents with a competitive advantage and with professional skills.
(3) To ensure that our students learn various management theories, management methods, and operation guidelines that they can use in the field, and develop the basic skills and talents required of a manager, such as the ability to adapt, plan, analyze, manage, and lead
(4) To strengthen the education that we are offering to cultivate morality, internationality, and creativity. We will develop future business leaders with insight who can create meaningful changes in the world while being respected for their moral integrity.
