Healthcare Center
The Healthcare Center, designed to replicate a nurse station—the first point of contact for hospitalized patients and a central hub of nursing activity—is utilized as a space to enhance clinical competencies such as health information collection and communication skills for nursing students. Additionally, the Healthcare Center is structured to support a variety of nursing education programs that reflect societal changes. It serves as a training ground for disaster and infection response using 3D simulations, as well as a space for virtual reality and AI-based educational programs. Through these initiatives, the center aims to play a vital role in improving the health promotion and prevention capabilities of nursing students, practicing nurses, and the local community.
Critical Care Unit
The Critical Care Unit, designed to replicate the environment of an emergency room and intensive care unit, is utilized to enhance practical competencies in areas such as acute and critical care nursing, patient triage, emergency response, and patient safety management. Equipped with an automated external defibrillator (AED), a virtual reality-based ventilator training program, and a mobile-based hemodynamic monitoring education program, the unit supports the training of clinical experts with advanced professional knowledge. Through these resources, it aims to play a leading role in the specialization of nursing practice.
Family Care Unit
The Family Care Unit has been designed to provide a patient-centered nursing environment, featuring abundant natural light, a quiet atmosphere, and respect for personal privacy. The room also includes a dedicated space for family members, creating a sense of comfort and relaxation. At the NERS Center, the Family Care Unit will be utilized to develop and implement a variety of nursing education programs aimed at enhancing clinical performance and therapeutic communication skills. These programs will ultimately foster the training of nurses capable of practicing patient- and family-centered care.
Isolation Room
In response to the growing emphasis on infection control, the Isolation Room was established with the goal of enhancing students’ infection control skills and understanding. Designed as a preparation space for nursing care of patients with infectious diseases, the room is equipped with hand hygiene facilities, an area for preparing isolation supplies, and a double-door entry system. The infection control education program utilizing the Isolation Room is expected to improve students’ awareness of the importance of infection control and related guidelines. Furthermore, the development and implementation of this specialized program will contribute to strengthening the infection prevention and response capabilities of future healthcare professionals.
NERS Academy
The NERS Academy (Control Room and Debriefing Room), integrated with the cloud-based SimCapture program, provides an environment where students can monitor and analyze the entire simulation process and the performance of nursing skills. This setup encourages self-reflection, helping students develop the ability to independently identify areas for improvement. Additionally, by supporting small group activities using smart boards, the center creates an optimized environment for implementing various programs aimed at enhancing critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills—key competencies required of clinical nurses.
