The school of chemical and biomolecular engineering at Pusan National University (PNU) has consistently been ranked high in the evaluation of undergraduate and graduate school inside and outside of the country. In particular, our school has been ranked top 151-200 in the QS World University Ranking in the subject of chemical engineering in 2016, which has been rose to one step higher to top 101-150 in the QS World University Ranking in 2017. Our school has been highly ranked based on its performance in research by full-time faculty members, number of citations per paper published by faculty members and h-index, teaching, employability and employer reputation, and internationalization.
The school of chemical and biomolecular engineering aspires to develop a world-class research program which provides graduate students with the opportunity to develop innovative competence in the fields ranging from traditional chemical engineering to emerging areas of study. This effort has been supported by establishing the prestigious BK21 PLUS program from the Ministry of Education of Korean government required to foster the global graduate program centered on world-class research.
The school of chemical and biomolecular engineering has been acquiring S level grade (most excellent grade) in the PNU college of engineering every year. This evaluation by the PNU is based on various factors including the employment rate of college graduates, the percentage of full-time faculty members available for lectures, the percentage of lectures given in English, the number of papers published by full-time faculty members, and the performance of foreign student exchange program.
